Information

Detective Pikachu is a special 18 card subset that was made available in English on March 29, 2019. The set was released in anticipation of the live-action Pokémon movie, Detective Pikachu. It features 3D art by the visual effects studios that worked on the film, the Moving Picture Company and Framestore. Similar to the Generations and Shining Legends expansions, Detective Pikachu booster packs could not be purchased separately and instead, were available exclusively in various set-related products. Each booster pack contains four cards, and all of the cards included within the English release are Holofoil.

The Japanese equivalent set Movie Special Pack Great Detective Pikachu is a 25 card sub-set that was released on April 26, 2019. Each booster pack contains 3 Common cards and an Uncommon card or above. Each booster box contains 20 packs and guarantees to form a complete set[1]. All Common and Uncommon cards included within the Japanese release are Mirror Holofoil.
